Season’s Tweetings

Posted by Tracy Spence On November - 29 - 2010

I guess I won’t be the first to come up with this title, but I had this planned from very early in the calendar, so I am claiming it!

As the yuletide holidays are looming closer and closer, a lot of business owners will be thinking of spending time with their family, rather than Tweeting good business news, hints and tips etc…

It would be very easy to Tweet about the holidays, to wish everybody a great time etc. But if you have linked your blog to Twitter and the other social media platforms then you can easily remain business focused by scheduling your messages when you are in more of a business frame of mind.

Social media is a little like a spider with the body being the start of your campaign and the legs being the feelers that help get your news out to the world.

An example is shown below:

Start with your blog or other main part to your campaign, and ensure the blog feeds down to all your other social media platforms.

This makes sure your message and brand is consistent and more easily found too.

If you start with your company blog, and you plan a little ahead (like I did when choosing this title), you can schedule your blogs a month or two in advance. Remember, you can always add news as it happens, if you win a great award or accreditation, if you take on a new large contract worth speaking about … unplanned surprises are easily added.

Scheduling not only saves time, but ensures your focus on your business and digital marketing plan remains intact too.

You can still wish everyone a happy holiday of course. I hope yours is a good one!
