How to Get Your Website Trusted by Google

Posted by Francois Muscat On May - 26 - 2011

If your website search position is not that great on Google’s organic search engine result pages (SERP), maybe it could be that Google doesn’t trust your website. Google is the most used search engine and it looks at a couple of factors that separates legitimate websites to web spam and to determine if your website deserves a good ranking.

If you are mostly focusing on SEO for your digital marketing strategy, it is very important to build trust with the search engines to get better rankings on them.

Tips to increase the trust of your website

Content quality: Is the content of your website original, unique and does it get updated regularly? Is the content of your website duplicated on other articles and web pages?

Length of visit: How long does your website visitors stay on your website from a Google search? If most of your visitors leave immediately it indicates that the content of your website is not relevant for that particular search term.

Spam hosting: If you are on a shared server and most of the other websites on the same server are spam websites, search engines will assume you may be one of them. This is quite a big problem on cheap website hosting servers where spammers are likely to be located.

Privacy policy: The presence of a privacy policy indicates that you take it seriously to protect all of your visitors personal information.

Backlinks: Websites that have a high number of relevant backlinks from other trusted websites are considered more important. The quality of the website linking to your website is important.

Domain renewal: If you registered your domain name for a long time it shows that you have long term plans for your website; not a fly by night website.

Domain age: New domains (under 12 months) are unproven businesses. Older domains is a sign of established business.

Building solid trust is always the key to get good organic search engine rankings. This is important with your website visitors and Google. Always focus on building trust as one of the most fundamental parts of online marketing.
