Recently, on October 28th, the 5th edition of the Digital Marketing First Conference took place in Brussels, Belgium. It’s an event which features Internet Marketing and social media experts from around the world, so – naturally – our WSI Internet Franchise joined in.

Considering that the online spending in Belgium has spiked 10% in the last year and is set to leap 25% by 2011 (ref. ZenithOptimedia), we were extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in the event alongside so many other digital media experts who recognize the rapid growth of digital marketing. From our very own network we had several WSI experts join the conference as speakers and another as an exhibitor at the conference tradeshow.

“Will you stay in business without Digital Marketing?” Delivered by WSI Consultant Dominique DeCoster, based out of Belgium, this presentation discussed the importance of leveraging new media tools and technologies in order to stay competitive in today’s market and even to just stay in business. As the population of Internet users soars, companies discovering how to leverage today’s latest new media tools and technologies to enhance their online presence and boost their marketing ROI becomes more and more vital.

“Web Analytics – Leverage the Power of Data and Take Action” WSI Consultant Feras Alhlou, based in California, spoke to this topic as a key note speaker at the event as well as participated as a part of an experts panel entitled, “Are you looking for performance? CPM, CPC, CPA…what should you buy?” Utilizing web analytics to measure a campaign’s success and optimize marketing dollars should be a nonnegotiable factor in a marketing plan and Feras is a great authority for information on leveraging the power behind web data.

Conference Tradeshow Facilitating the WSI Internet Franchise tradeshow booth was local Consultant Miko Kershberg, and the feedback received from attendees was tremendous. Clearly there is an overwhelming interest among marketing professionals to re-evaluate marketing strategies and incorporating new, innovative digital marketing techniques.

As always, WSI’s ongoing focus is to educate the business community on the ‘digitization’ process as consumers, companies and advertising spending shifts from offline to online. And as advocates of knowledge sharing, we were honored to have been given the opportunity to speak at the Digital Marketing First Conference.
